Thurman E. Jones, 77, of Greenwich, died peacefully August 27, 2012 at his home surrounded by family and friends after a short illness. Born May 14, 1935, in Jacobs, KY, to the late Allie and Zadie Jones. Thurman lived most of his life in Greenwich. He served in the United States Air Force. Thurman worked at Akron Standard Mold for many years. He was a member of the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survived by his wife of 54 years Dorise; daughter, Belinda (Frank) Mareno of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren, Megan Mareno of Circleville and Frank Mareno III. of Pickerington and siblings, Corinne (Alfred) Oney of Greenwich, C.L. Jones of Greenwich, Robert Jones of New Haven and Olray (Renita) Jones of Norwalk. Preceded in death by siblings, Donald Jones, Emmitt Jones, Imogene Wright, Ruth Jones and infant brother, Danny. Visitation at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich, Thursday, August 30th 5-8 pm. and Friday 2 pm until services Saturday at Little Rebecca Church, 4982 Henry Rd., Plymouth. A service Friday 6pm and funeral service Saturday 11 am with Elder Buddy Carty officiating. Interment at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery and a lunch following at the church.
