Tim Langford, 61, of New London, died January 14, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on December 6, 1952, in Weston, West Virginia to the late Stanley and Florene (Horner) Langford. Tim lived most of his life in the New London and Sullivan areas. Tim graduated from Black River High School in 1971. He worked as a bridge and building supervisor for Norfolk Southern Railroad, Firelands Electric in New London as a journeyman lineman until he retired in 1997, and later worked part time at NAPA in New London. Tim was a member of the American Legion Broome-Wood Post 292 in New London. He was the active secretary of New London Eagles 2869 and coordinated the annual car show. Tim was also a member of the Ashland Eagles 2178, Bethel Baptist Church and the LaGrange Steam Engine Club. He enjoyed attending car shows and woodworking. Tim cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson. Tim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda; sons, Brian (Glenda) Langford of Gainesboro, TN and Brent (Jenny) Langford of New London; daughter, Becky (Brian Weilnau) Langford of Covington, Virginia; grandchildren, John, Ally, Hailey, Brittney, Ashley, Adam, Dylan and Gabby; great grandson, Bentley and siblings, Kenneth Langford and Patsy Harley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rondal, Richard and Roger Langford and sisters, Mavis Collins and Roberta Dull. The family will greet friends Monday, January 20th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Dan Ux officiating. Burial will follow in Ruggles Cemetery. Although he himself did not have the disease, Tim was a passionate advocate for those who suffered from multiple sclerosis. Accordingly, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 202, Independence, Ohio 44131.
