Timothy Lee Ensign, 53, of Norwalk, unexpectedly passed from this life to the next, on June 19, 2021, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. He was born on October 28, 1967, in Sandusky, Ohio to Barbara (Hickman) Ensign and the late Richard "Dick" Ensign and graduated in 1986 from Norwalk High School. Tim began on his father's pit crew when he was only 5 years old, where the race car number "05" was born. Tim eventually took over driving duties from his dad, but always kept the 05 car number. He could race anything on wheels and was an avid B.M.X. racer. A fixture at the racetrack, Tim was inducted along with his father, into the Sandusky Speedway's Hall of Fame in 2018. His mechanical skillset & knowledge was world renowned, and his selfless nature often led people to stop by the house where he would fix their cars, lawnmowers or whatever they may need at the time. Tim was a certified ASE Master Technician and a member of the Transmission Brotherhood. Tim worked for Freudenberg-Nok in Milan as a Senior Product Development Technician since 2005. Before that he worked as an ASE Master Technician in several shops & dealerships. Tim along with his wife Allison were also Co-owners of Jo & Ed's Carryout in Norwalk until 2014. Tim loved his family, racing, greyhounds and enjoyed traveling and most recently camping. Survivors include his loving wife, of 32 years, Allison (Bowling) Ensign; children, Anthony (Heather) Biecheler of Andersen Air Force Base, Guam and Gage Ensign (Mackenzie Carr) of Bellevue; grandchildren, Emma, Sawyer and Shephard Biecheler and Remy Scriver; mother, Barbara Ensign of Norwalk; brother, Keith Ensign of Norwalk; sister, Kim of Tennessee; father and mother in-law, James (Geraldine) Bowling of Norwalk; sister in-law's Sara (Richard) Bruns of Norwalk & Liz Adams of South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews. And his closest friend, Mo Van Vlerah of Milan. He was preceded in death by his dad, Richard "Dick" Ensign and brother, Gregg Ensign. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Mt. Harvest Church of God, 150 State Rte. 113 W., Milan, OH from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m.Pastor Carl Woodyard will be presiding over the service.
