July 12, 1958 – August 23, 2020
Tommy Ray Birchfield, 62, of Wellington, died on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at New Life Hospice in Lorain. Born on July 12, 1958 in Beckley, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Eva Mae (nee Blevins) and Charles Birchfield. Tommy lived in Wellington most of his life and served in the US Army.
Tom was a truck driver for Mack Industries for many years and owned a gun shop in Wellington. He was a union representative, member of Rochester Rod & Gun Club, Wellington Eagles and Green Pastures Church in Oberlin. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Melinda (nee Mullins) Birchfield; children, Steve Bolen (Melissa), of LaGrange and Drema Bolen (Bret) of Amherst; grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Katelenn, Justin and Gavin; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara (Frank) Kwiatowski, Brenda Rundle and Delmer (Linda) Birchfield; sister in law, Carol Birchfield and Father in law, Derwood Mullins. He is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Birchfield and mother in law, Bernadine Mullins.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 10-11 am at Greenwood Cemetery, 101 Cemetery Road, Wellington, OH 44090 where services will begin at 11 am.
