Tressie Tackett, age 86, of Plymouth died Thursday, December 06, 2007 at her home, after a short illness. She was born March 21, 1921 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Robert and Lavina (Patrick) Kilgore. She had lived in the Plymouth, Shiloh and Willard areas for about 70 years. She was a member of the Mills Road Church of God in Jesus Name, Plymouth. She was a singer and songwriter, and loved traveling, gardening, sewing and embroidery. During her lifetime, Mrs. Tackett saw 8 generations, beginning with her great grandmother, Seelie Kilgore, grandmother Lula Kilgore, all the way down to her great-great grandchildren. She is survived by 3 daughters, Wilda (Junior) Barnett of Shiloh, Maxine Collins of Shelby, Linda Montgomery of Willard; 4 sons, Henry (Mary) Tackett, Charles (Sherry) Tackett all of Willard, Jerry Tackett and David (Sheila) Tackett all of Plymouth; 30 grandchildren, 81 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great Great Grandchildren, 3 brothers, Kizer Kilgore of Boughtonville, Isaac (Billy) Kilgore and James Kilgore both of Willard; 3 sisters, Effie Shepherd of New London, Lucille Barnett and Betty Rowe both of Willard, numerous neices and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death in 1991 by her husband, David Tackett, whom she married June 2, 1939, her daughter, Cathrine Tackett, great grandsons Corey and Brock Long, her sister, Bessie Picklesimer, her brothers, Kelsie, Robert and Kelly Kilgore, her great granddaugher, Cassie Campo. Calling hours will be Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 5-9 P.M. at the Mills Rd. Church of God In Jesus' Name, 4728 Mills Road, Plymouth, where the funeral service will be held Monday, December 10, 2007 at 1 P.M. David Montgomery and Ryan Tackett will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Eastman Funeral Home, Greenwich is in charge of arrangements.
