Tuff Kinter, age 70, of Nova died Monday, January 26, 2009 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Elyria on July 27, 1938 to the late Francis R. and Marietta M. Kinter. Tuff lived in the Wellington and Nova area most of his life.
He was an avid outdoorsman who was known for his experience in tree work, carpentry. He owned and operated Tuff's Stump Removal and Tree Service, for many years. He was an active member of the New London Eagles Arie 2869.
Tuff is survived by his children, Rob (Becky) Kinter of Nova, Gina (Barry) Gundlach of New London and Rick Kinter of Nova; 1 granddaughter, Liberty 'Squeaky'; 3 grandsons, Dylan, Mike and Alex; siblings, Shirley (Ed) Ferber of Greenwich, Lois (Kenneth) Drushell of Nova, John (Lois) Kinter of Nova, Mary Jo (Alva) Pay of Sullivan, Norman 'Pete' (Judy) Kinter of Elyria and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Iva Marie Kinter, Sally Robertson and infant sister, Patsy Kinter and brother, Loren Kinter.
At Tuff's request there will be a private service for his immediate family at a later date. Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London are in charge of arrangements. Memorials if desired may be made to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
