Valera Ella Dill, age 95, of New London, died early Thursday morning, November 25, 2010 at The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New London. She was born October 26, 1915 in Greenwich, Ohio, daughter of the late Joe and Pauline (Zarker) Funk. She resided in the New London area all of her life. Valera graduated from New London High School and attended Ashland School of Nursing. She worked for C.E. Ward Co./McMillan Ward in New London retiring in 1980. She belonged to the New London Garden Club, the Birthday Club of C.E. Wards, A Friend of the New London Library, and the New London United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Ronald Dill of Yorktown, Virginia and Suzanne Reinders of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren, Todd (Michelle) Dill of Williamsburg, Va., Tamara (Mark) Croom of Yorktown, Va., Kristine (Jeri) Witherington of Seymour, Ind.; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; her brother, Richard Funk of Willard; her sister in law, Nona Funk of New London. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Dill in 1978, her brother Gene Funk and her sister in law, Evelyn Funk. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London with Pastor Cathy Ake officiating.
