Valerie Jane Field, 67, of New London, Ohio, died on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Regency West Hospital, Middleburg Heights.  Valerie was born on December 9, 1956, in Elyria, Ohio; the daughter of the late John and Sharon Cerlan.

Valerie was a 1975 graduate of New London High School. She was an outdoor enthusiast.  She was most happy when outdoors and loved visiting the lake, which often resulted in being in the lake.  In the late 1970's she traveled to the Caribbean.  She developed a love for mountain climbing and scuba diving.  Back in the day, Valerie liked to play paint ball.  Valerie went on to become a certified Hypnotherapist in the late 1980's.  She specialized in working with patients who had PTSD.  On May 31, 1997, she married her husband, Barry, whom she often called "Bear".  They have shared the past 32 years together.

Valerie is survived by her loving husband, Barry Field; nieces, Kristina Moran and Sarah Anderson; nephew Jason Anderson.  In addition to her parents, John and Sharon Cerlan, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Moran and nephew, Aaron Kalo.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, where her Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Ayers officiating.  Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
