Vera Ellen Leiby, 86, of Wellington passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 11:25 p.m. at MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland, from complications from a sudden illness. She was born in Elyria on February 25, 1928 to the late Paul and Florence (nee Easterbrook) Williams. Vera attended school in Elyria and Rochester for a short time. Vera grew up in the Wellington area where she married Raymond F. Leiby on August 5, 1950 and raised twin sons Raymond L. Leiby and Richard L. Leiby. She loved having her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grand children around, going camping, having cookouts with family and friends, watching her favorite television programs and watching out of her front window to see what was going on. She adored her pet Chihuahua, Cici, and also enjoyed her collection of porcelain dolls and Elvis memorabilia. Vera loved fair time; especially getting her cotton candy, waffles and Italian sausage sandwich. Vera is survived by her husband Raymond F. Leiby, sons Raymond L (Sue) Leiby Sr., and Richard L. Leiby Sr., both of Wellington, grandchildren Raymond L. (Erin) Leiby Jr., Tammi Leiby, Ryan Leiby, Richard L. Leiby Jr., David (Jessica) Mann, and Debbie Mann, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant son Dalton Leiby, siblings Walter Williams, Arthur Williams, Viola White, Chuck White and Florence Donaldson. She is also preceded in death by her father and mother in-law Fane and Ruth Leiby, sisters in-law Carol Leiby, Juanita Leiby, JoAnn Leiby and Shirley Leiby, Frances Leiby. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Sunday August 17, 2014 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held on Monday August 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lenore Robinson presiding. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery.
