Obituary

Vera Jean Marks, 70, of Wellington died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at her home. She was born in Oberlin on July 10, 1938 to the late John and Velma Reaser. For 18 years, Vera Jean worked at LaGrange Electric Assembles. In her younger years, she was very active with the Rochester First Baptist Church. More recently, she attended the First Baptist Church in Wellington. Vera Jean enjoyed shopping and flowers. She was a doll collector who owned over 300 dolls. Survivors include her four daughters, Robin (Dan) Gallatin of Wellington, Jenny Tripp of Wellington, Connie (Earl) Hurst of Elyria and Sharon (Scott) Regal of Wellington; three sons, Rick (Michelle) Marks of St. Augustin, FL, Tim (Jan) Marks of Wellington and Randy (Tina) Marks of Rochester Township; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Vera Jean is also survived by her siblings, Robert Reaser, Landis Reaser, LeRoy Reaser, Ruth Conrad, Pauline Conrad, Lenore Bennett, Virginia Paull, Regie Smith, Noreen Gonzales and Josie Earl. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Freddie Marks; three sons, Garry, Larry and Freddie, Jr.; grandson, Mitchel Marks; granddaughter, Yvonne Marks; brother, Johnny Reaser, Jr. and sister, Lois Bennett. Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 27 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Grafton Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be sent to The Kidney Foundation of Ohio, 2831 Prospect Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115-2606.
