Obituary

Vernie Huff, age 92,of Greenwich, died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Hillside Acres Nursing Home, Willard. She was born, March 31, 1915 in Floyd County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jim 'Blackhawk' and Willie (Johnson) Shepherd. Vernie lived in the Shiloh area for over 70 years. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She is survived by 6 sons, Henry (Nancy) Huff of Kelliher Minn., Edward (Lana) Huff of Greenwich, Daniel (Pam) Huff of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Thomas (Becky) Huff and Raymond (Cindy) Huff all of Ashland, Theodore (Sue) Huff of Mansfield; 8 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Huff was preceded in death by her husband Milo Huff and 4 brothers Chandler, Chester, Sage and Babe Shepherd, her granddaughter, Heather Huff. A graveside service will be held, Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenwich. In lieu of flowers her request for donations were to the Salvation Army Service Unit Of New London, 12 Akron Street, New London, OH 44851, the Southern Care Hospice, 775 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44907, or Hillside Acres Recreation Department, 370 East Howard, Willard, Ohio 44890. Eastman Funeral Home, Greenwich were in charge of arrangements.
