Virgil Victor Hively (70) of Crestline died Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Avita Health System, Galion.  He was born May 24, 1951 in Butler, Ohio to the late Violet (Umfleet) and James Hively.  Virgil worked at Westinghouse and Midwest Industries. He also worked as guard at the Mansfield Reformatory and MANCI and at the same time served as officer for the Mansfield Police Department. Virgil enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, antiquing and flea marketing. He also spent some years in the army as an engineer during Vietnam .

Virgil is survived by his ex-wife/ fiancée Yvonne (Ratliff) Hively of Crestline, Children: Cherry H. Hively, Beverly Steagall, Jesse Hively, Chris, Megan Hively Adkins,  Jacquelynn Hively, also Jerry Duane Bailey that he counted as a step-son, a grandson, granddaughter and 3 great grandsons along with 2 siblings: David Owens and Susie Philips.

Friends may call from 10-12 Noon on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main Street, Greenwich. Burial will take place immediately following visitation at the Edwards Grove Cemetery with military rites being provided by New London American Legion.
