Virginia L. Cowles, 95, of Pataskla, died Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Wesley Ridge Nursing Center in Reynoldsburg. Born on March 14, 1930, in Ada, she was the daughter of the late Elza and Marjory Dodge. Virginia grew up in Ada, where she met her husband Lawrence when he attended Ohio Northern. They later moved to Wellington before relocating to the Columbus area.

Virginia was active with her children, volunteering her time as a Cub Scout and Brownie leader. She was talented at and enjoyed making ceramics.

Survivors include her children, Renee Mardis, of Pickerington, and Chris Cowles, of Kent; grandchildren, Rachel Bellaw Rebecca Mardis, Shelby Parker, Sam Cowles, and C.R. Cowles; great grandchildren, Kai, Torin, Abigail and Lucas. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Cowles.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday February 11, 2026 beginning at 11 a.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Wellington. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
