Virginia L. 'Ginger' Ganz, 74, of New London, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at
Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, FL. She was born on June 29, 1936
in Willard to the late Eugene and Lillian Simpson.
She graduated from Willard High School in 1955. Ginger studied to be a flight attendant
before getting a job at the Pentagon and later moved back home to work for the Mansfield social security office. She also worked as a proofreader for RR Donnelley, New London Hospital and later the New London Nursing Home.
Ginger was a member of the Eastern Star for 53 years, Fitchville Methodist Church and
was a member and past president of the New London Garden Club.
She cherished her family and friends and was an avid gardener. Ginger loved animals and was active with the Huron County Humane Society. She enjoyed music, movies, and reading
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Royce; children, Marc (Zina) Ganz of
Norton; Terry 'Scott' (Yenny) Ganz of New London; John (Maureen) Ganz of New
London and Karen (Paul) Ganz Royce of Silver Springs, NY; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Ginger was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard
Simpson.
Visitation will be held at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London
from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on March 10th and Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tom Matus officiating. Burial will follow at Fitchville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Fitchville United Methodist Church, 1593 US Rte 250 S., New London, Ohio 44851, Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio 44857 or the charity of donor's choice.
