Norwalk

Virginia B. King, 85, of Norwalk, passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident on July 9, 2026, at MetroHealth in Cleveland. She was born on October 8, 1940, in Ovapa, West Virginia, to the late Arley and Goldie (Brailey) Brown.

Virginia grew up in West Virginia and graduated from Clay County High School. Eventually moving to Ohio and then Florida, where she retired after many years from Sacred Heart Hospital. She was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church in Norwalk; she lived a life rooted in her strong faith, kindness, and compassion. She was also a devoted supporter of the Huron County Humane Society and had a special place in her heart for animals.

A lifelong Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Browns fan, Virginia rarely missed a game and proudly cheered on her favorite teams through every season. Her love for animals was equally legendary—she never met an animal she didn't love and seemed to have a gift for finding and caring for every stray that crossed her path.

While she enjoyed many things in life, nothing brought Virginia greater happiness than her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. When Analiese and Nyx were born, she moved back to Ohio from Florida so she could be close to them and share in every moment of their lives. She never missed a karate or golf match, graduation, concert, banquet, school program, or award ceremony. No matter the occasion, she was always there in the crowd, cheering the loudest and beaming with pride. She especially loved wearing her treasured "Grandma" shirts adorned with her grandchildren's names, proudly letting everyone know who held her heart.

Virginia was also immensely proud of her only son, Randy, and cherished the close bond they shared throughout her life. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and her greatest joy.

She is survived by her son, Randall (Andrea) King; her beloved grandchildren, Analiese and Nyx; and her constant and faithful companion, Chico, affectionately known by Virginia as "Chikee."

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul King; her sister, Maxine Pepoles; and her brothers, Bill Brown and Charles Brown.

In keeping with Virginia's wishes, cremation will take place, and no public services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Virginia's honor to the Humane Society or the ASPCA, reflecting her lifelong love and care for animals.

Though she will be deeply missed, Virginia leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, fierce devotion to her family, kindness toward every creature she encountered, and countless treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
