Virginia Eleen Miller, 85, of Wellington, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at EMH in Elyria after a lengthy illness. Born in Fremont on August 5, 1924, Virginia was the daughter of the late Ivan and Mabel (nee Parmenter) Smith.
Virginia was a 1944 graduate of Wellington High School. For many years, she worked as an LPN at Wellington Community Hospital. Virginia was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellington, the Wellington Eagles Auxiliary and the Wellington Grange. Her hobbies included bingo and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and great grandchildren; she never missed an opportunity to cheer them on at a sporting event.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra (Robert) Walker and Patricia (Douglas) Johnson, all of Wellington; 8 granddaughters, Michelle White, Melissa Teague, Erin Thompson, Brooke Walker, Ashley Johnson, Robin Walker, Lauren Johnson, Megan Johnson and 5 great grandchildren, Jordan White, Caleb Teague, Austin White, Trenton Teague and Peyton Teague. Virginia is also survived by her siblings, Ivan Smith of Wellington, Dorothy Mason of Elyria, Mary Longacre of Elyria and Carolyn Smith of Wellington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Miller; siblings, Leroy Smith, Gale Smith and Jeanette Smith and a great granddaughter, Madeline Teague.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, September 10th at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating.
