EASTMAN FUNERAL HOME 419-929-3781 Virginia "Irene" Runkle, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 26, 2014. She was a long time resident of Ruggles Twp., Ohio and was currently living at Brookwood Place, Ashland. Irene was born June 13, 1920 in Greenwich Township, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph Bartley and Beulah (Todd) Paramore. She married Walter LaVerne Runkle on February 28, 1941. Irene was active in her community. She belonged to the Ruggles Church, the Hill and Valley Women's Club, Ohio Wagon Train, Ruggles Grange and the Ruggles Ladies Guild. She is survived by her children, Verne (Barbara) Runkle, Evansville, Indiana, Burton (Diana) Runkle, Ashland, Ohio, Nancy (Bob) Smith, Ashland, Judy (Ron) Boyd, Trenton, Florida, Robert Runkle, Ashland, Walter Joe (Laura) Runkle, Vermilion; her grandchildren, Terri Tucker, Kim Vinkenberg, Scott Runkle, Nora Kamper, Tim Runkle, Robin Manos, Jami Sanderson, Daniel Smith, David Smith, Dina Gast, Donald Smith, Susie Underwood, Steven Boyd, Ben Runkle, Todd Runkle, Jeremy Tracy, Jered Runkle; 34 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Runkle, her siblings, Evelynn Springer, Raymond Paramore, Clinton "Kink" Paramore, Ariel Hoyle and Jean Jackson. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015, at the Ruggles Church, 1364 State Route 224, New London, Ohio 44851 with Pastor Martin Daly officiating.
