Obituary

Waldean (Dean) Risner, age 65, lifelong resident of New London, died Wednesday, July 8, 2008 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk. He was born October 9, 1943 in New London, son of the late Jake and Ivellea (Hall) Risner. Waldean graduated in 1961 from New London High School. He also graduated from General Motors training center in Detroit. Waldean pumped gas at the former mobile gas station, New London. He was a plant manager at the former Ohio Body Mfg. for 25 years and Janesville products in Norwalk for the past 17 years. Waldean started up the charioteers car club in New London in the early 60's and enjoyed working on cars. Waldean was a civil war buff. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New London. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Susann; children, Eric (Ines) Risner of Canton, Christopher Risner of Los Angeles and Joel Risner of Lorain; siblings, Rosalie Kidd of New London and Larry Gene (Gail) Risner of Norwalk. He was preceded in death by his brother, Leon Risner. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London. Rev. Dan Moore will officiate. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 43099 North Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
