Wayne R. Cottrell, age 63, of Seville died on Thursday, September 6, 2007 after a short illness. He was born February 4, 1944 in Wellington, the son of the late Roy and Mary (Hart) Cottrell. Mr. Cottrell was a lifelong resident of the Wellington area and attended Wellington High School.
Wayne was an animal lover; he raised fish, birds, and dogs. He also held his private pilot's license. He attended the Triangle Baptist Church in Chippewa Lake.
Survivors include his wife of twelve years, Rochelle; Three daughters, Gidget, Sherri, and Krista, 6 grandchildren; a stepdaughter and son-in-law Sheila and Dobber Tackett of Seville, and his grandchildren Heather, Allison, and Kate, Brittany, and MaHaley. He is also survived by three brothers, William, Dwight, and Michael Cottrell, all of Wellington and a sister, Connie Cottrell of Wellington. Wayne also left behind many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy and Sidney Cottrell and a stepdaughter, Lisa Gallatin.
Friends may call from 6:30 until 9:30 pm on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 am with Pastor Bobby Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Wellington.
