Wayne G. Sholes, 93, of Vermilion, Ohio died on November 15, 2020 at Kingston of Vermilion Nursing Home.  He was born on October 23, 1927 in Norwalk, Ohio to the now deceased, Willis Eugene and Beatrice Ann (Johns) Sholes.

Wayne led a colorful life decorated with hard work and love.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, pilot, trap shooter, sailor on the Great Lakes, and a really, good grandpa.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norwalk.  Wayne had achieved the four levels of the Masonic York Rite and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Lodge #64.

He had driven truck for most of his life and was an independent trucker at the end of his career, retiring from trucking in 1990.

Survivors include his children, Wayne W. (May) Sholes and Barbara (Bruce) Haynes and grandchildren, Kaylee Swanson, and Nicholas Eastman.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife Cora (Martin) Sholes and brothers, Gilbert, and Gaylord Sholes.
