Wayne Allen Wikle, 66, of Wellington, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Specialty Hospital in Amherst. Wayne was born on July 12, 1944 to the late Harry and Mary Alice (nee Hyde) Wikle and moved to the Wellington area in 1978. Wayne was a retired owner/operator truck driver. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles 2051 and VFW Post 8. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family and his cat, Sassy. Wayne is survived by son, Robert (Laurie) Wikle of Olmsted Falls; daughters, Tammy Quillen and Cherie Wikle both of LaGrange and a step-daughter, Renee Haywood of Elyria; grandchildren, Jerrod, Jenna, Rylan, and Cody; step-grandchildren, Torie, Justin and Andy; and his companion of nearly 14 years, Joyce Hicks. Wayne is also survived by his brother, Richard Wikle of Redwood City CA, sister, Diane Christian of North Ridgeville and 5 nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington on Tuesday August 31, 2010 from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. A gathering for friends and family will be held immediately following the service at 7 p.m. at the Wellington Eagles 2051, 631 S. Main St., Wellington.
