Obituary

Wendell Kent Troxel, age 92, of Willard, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Hillside Acres in Willard. Mr. Troxel was born February 14, 1915 in Butler Twp., Richland County, Ohio, son of the late, Alva Thorton & Sadie (Phillips) Troxel. He was a Savannah High School and Ashland College graduate. Mr. Troxel was a math and science teacher for 18 years, having taught in Willard and New Haven. He owned Troxel Farm Supplies for 15 years, a farm equipment dealership in Greenwich that sold Oliver and Ferguson Tractors. He was a member of and president in 1946 of the Farm Equipment Association. He was a board member of the Willard Hospital. He was a mason for 70 years and in the Scottish Rite. Mr. Troxel is survived by a daughter, Bonita (Greg) Barnes of Ridgecrest, CA and Connie (Bob) Chase of New Washington; a son, Dick (Linda) Troxel of Marietta, GA; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Dora Irene Troxel; a sister, Hazel Eby; and 2 brothers, Robert and Stanley Troxel. Private graveside services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich with Pastor David Cobb officiating. Friends and family are invited to an open house at Art & Jeannie White's home, 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007. Memorials may be made to the Ripley Church, 4130 S. Edwards Rd., Greenwich, Ohio 44837. Eastman Funeral Home, Greenwich is in charge of arrangements.
