Obituary

Wendy Suzanne Triplett, 44, born February 18, 1964, daughter of Ruth Ann (Kettlewell) Greiffenhagen of Wellington and Kenneth O. Triplett (deceased), and stepdaughter of Wolf W. Greiffenhagen, joined her angels Saturday, December 27, 2008. Wendy spent her early years in Wellington with many people helping with a therapy program in an effort to better her life. She had cerebral palsy and, although quite physically helpless, enjoyed her life very much and touched many hearts. She was a source of inspiration, demonstrating courage and love, and had a terrific sense of humor. She lived in a South Amherst group home cared for by a loving staff. Murray Ridge School and Workshops in Elyria and Oberlin provided her with fun and interesting contact with others and she hated missing a single day. She participated in Saturday outings at the Midway Mall, holidays with family and friends, summer cookouts, hammock swinging, the Cleveland Ballet and the Stocker Center events. She loved music, and her giant pancake with brown sugar syrup was a weekly must as was her Friendly's Strawberry Sundaes and Butterfinger Blizzards from Dairy Queen. Wendy is survived by her mother and stepfather, Ruth Ann and Wolf Greiffenhagen of Wellington; her sisters, Juyne Triplett and her husband, Rob Riordan of Bay Village and Julie Simonson of Wellington; niece and nephew, Stephanie Simonson and Stephen Simonson and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Wendy was preceded in death by her special friend, Thomas Bernatowitz of Parma, having shared a love as few people can, and her father, Kenneth O. Triplett. Friends and family will be received from 11:30 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, January 3 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with Sister Pat Adams officiating. Donations in memory of Wendy can be made to the Murray Ridge Center, 1091 Infirmary Rd., Elyria, OH 44035 or to New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
