Obituary

Wilbur Gordon Browand, 98, of Brighton, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange. Born on May 3, 1925, in Lodi, he was the son of the late Wilford and Grace (nee Breyley) Browand. Wilbur was a 1943 graduate of Penfield High School and lived in the Wellington area most of his life.

Wilbur worked as a Farmer and drove semis for Bendix Corporation, retiring in 1982. He and his wife Joyce were active members of Brighton United Methodist Church, especially with the Couples Club at the church. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau. Between his farm, the church and his loving family, Wilbur was always busy but enjoyed his time traveling and wintering in Claremont Florida.

Survivors include his children, Dale (Cindi) Browand, Denny Browand, Claudia Browand, Diana (Ed) Gott, and Gary (Leslie) Browand; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister LaVern Combs, of FL. Wilbur was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 73 years, Joyce (nee Holmes); siblings, Laddie, Eloise, Miriam, Lenore and Alan and his grandson, Bruce.

A private family service will be held on Saturday, September 23, at 10 a.m at the Brighton United Methodist Church, 51011 State Route 18. The family suggests memorial contributions, if desired, be directed to either Mercy New Life Hospice, 350 Kolbe Rd, Lorain, 44053, or the Wellington Office on Aging, 115 Willard Memorial Sq, Wellington, 44090.
