Wilbur H. Haas, 84, of Wellington, died Monday, November 13, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Born on June 26, 1933 in Missouri, he was the son of the late William Frederick and Edna (nee Baider) Haas. Wilbur was a graduate of Elyria High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Wilbur worked for UPS, Fisher Foods and later became the assistant manager for A&P and Geyers grocery store in Wellington. He also worked as an assistant to Dominick Yerace, Jerry Standen, and John Farkas in auction sales. Wilbur was dedicated to his community, serving on the Wellington School Board, the board of Public Affairs, the Lorain JVS Board of Education, and delivered for Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles, the American Legion, and was a past grandmaster and over 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge. Wilbur enjoyed watching Cleveland sports, especially the Indians and Browns. He was also a faithful supporter of the raffles and events held at the local Eagles. Most of all Wilbur cherished his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his children Marla Senghas, Marci (Tom) Kehoe, and Greg (Barb) Haas; 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Wilbur was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Marilyn, and his sisters Cleo, LaVera, and Myrt. Friends and family will be received on Friday, November 17, from 4-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, 44090, and on Saturday from 10 until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
