Willard "Wayne" Black, 80, of Wellington, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Lorain. Born to the late Willard Black and Myrtie (nee Craven) Black, he was born in Walker County Alabama. After graduating high school in the early 60's, Wayne joined the Air Force.
Wayne later went on to become a minister with the Church of God, and had lived in many areas spreading the word of God,including Alabama, Louisiana and North Ridgeville. In 2002, he had moved back to the Wellington area. He was very outgoing and loved joking. His favorite activities were fishing and hunting, but most of all, loving life and spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife Carolyn (nee Clements) Black; children, Regina (Frank) Marley, of Wellington, Kirk (Teresa) Black, of Colorado, and Samuel (Gretchen) Black, of Toledo; grandchildren, Meagan(Kyle), Michael, Dakota, Sierra, Rider, Macy, Joseph; great-grandchild, Cameron; siblings, Jerry and Sam Black and Diane Morgan. He is preceded in death by his parents and step-father Cooley Hardy.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 9:30-11am at LaGrange Church of God, 502 North Center Street, LaGrange, Ohio 44050, where service will follow at 11am.
