William H. "Bill" Fairchild, 79, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Stein Hospice in Sandusky. He was born in Cygnet on January 19, 1936 to the late C. Burdell and Esther M. (nee Beam) Fairchild. Bill grew up and spent his childhood in Wakeman, moving to New London in 1959. Bill worked as a famer for several farms in Huron County. He also drove truck and worked for a paving company in Georgia. Bill went on to work at Berry's Restaurant in Norwalk. Bill is survived by his daughter Jody Fairchild of New Paris; siblings Chester "Chet" Fairchild, Gladys Luxon, Virginia Fazenbaker, and Agnes "Midge" Skiver; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (nee Knapp) Fairchild. Friends and family will gather at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, on Saturday, September 26, from 10 until the time of services at 11 a.m., burial will follow at Wakeman Cemetery.
