William Allen "Bill" Gobel, 66 of Sullivan, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Avon Place. Born on February 25, 1951 in Columbus, Bill grew up and lived most of his life in Cleveland before moving to Sullivan in 1988. Bill Proudly served his county as a United States Marine. Bill worked for LTV and later for Linden Propane in transportation. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in his yard and garden or on the golf course. Bill cherished time with his family especially taking his grandsons to classic car shows and will be remembered as a devoted PawPaw. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years Dotty (nee Layton) Gobel; daughters, Shannon Cline (Greg) of Cleveland, and Courtney (David) Sadler, of Wadsworth; grandsons Owen and Quinn Sadler; siblings Eldon and Larry Gobel, Mary Prager, Steve, Rita, Joe, Sandy, and Scott Gobel. Bill was preceded in death by his mother Virginia (nee Stewart) Gobel; grandmother, Frida Benton; brother Dale Gobel, and brother-in-law Tom Prager. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, December 26, from 5-8 p.m. at Norton Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, where services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, beginning at 11:30 am.
