IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
Edward Burton
January 19, 1943 – September 25, 2025
William Edward "Bill" Burton, age 82, of New London, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at his residence. Born January 19, 1943, in Ashland, he was the son of Stanley Wilburn Burton Sr. and Gladys Lucille (Miller) Dubick. Bill was a 1961 graduate of New London High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Automotive Mechanic.
Vehicles of all varieties were of interest to Bill. He was passionate about old cars and loved to attend car shows. He had a special place at the Bellevue Train Yard where he would go and watch the trains coming and going, sometimes spending all day marveling at the machines. Bill also loved tractors and spending time on the farm. Just being outside and around mechanics brought him immense joy. After his retirement, he began to play videogames on his PlayStation. As a man who often kept to himself, his games kept him occupied for many years.
Left to cherish Bill's memory are his daughter, Becky (Ron) Hamisfar of Norwalk; grandchildren, Ron (Lindsey) Hamisfar, Faith (Sean) Shuler, Brittany (Daniel) Papai; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Harrison Hamisfar, Freya and Isabella Shuler, Trenton Carroll, and Elijah Papai. He is also survived by his siblings, Jeannene Burt, and Lynn Burton.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Hamisfar; brother, Stanley W. Burton Jr.; and sister, Mary Lou Aranyos.
Per Bill's wishes, no services will be held at this time. Interment will take place at Grove Street Cemetery at a later date. The Eastman Funeral Home in New London is honored to assist the family with their arrangements.
