Obituary

William H. "Bill" King, 87, of Willard, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Born on August 14, 1931 in Brethett Co. Kentucky, he was the son of the late James and Cora (nee Marshall) King. Bill came to the Greenwich area in the winter of '37. Bill had worked for the Shelby Air Force Depot, Akron Standard Mold, the Plymouth Elevator and Hube Dewitt Shell Station in Greenwich. He also served as an assistant pastor and clerk for the United Baptist Church in Shelby. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was dedicated to his church and loved preaching revivals. Bill cherished his family and friends and always looked forward to family get-togethers. Survivors include his children William Douglas "Doug" King, of Willard, Roger Dale (Terri) King, of Anchorage AK, Richard Alan King of Mansfield, Linda (Willis) Barnett, of Willard; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Traskie King, daughter Debbie Tuttle, siblings Kelly King, Etta Landis, Orva, Lawson, and Kenneth King, and great-grandson Hunter Slone. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, March 10, from 3-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich. Services will be held on Monday, beginning at 11 a.m. at the North Broadway United Baptist Church, 290 North Broadway Street, Shelby with Brother Jim Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth. Condolences may be shared online at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
