William Rex Lee, 89, of Huntington, died August 13, 2014 at the Elms in Wellington. He was born on August 25, 1924 to the late William G. and Elizabeth (nee Rex) Lee in Hundred, West Virginia. Bill served his country in the Navy during World War II stationed on the U.S.S. Barnes in the South Pacific.
Bill worked as a welder at Fruhauf Trailer Company and Ohio Body. He also worked at Oberlin College as a custodian until his retirement in 1989. Bill was an auctioneer for many years.
Bill is survived by his children, Blinda (Al) Baxter, of Huntington, Michele (Dave) Bieri, of Florida, Darla (Greg) Channel, of Columbus, Greg Lee, of Denver, Colorado and Bob (Dolly) Lee, of Huntington; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Lois (nee Gordon) Lee in 2007; sister, Karen Toothman and her family.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Huntington, 26677 State Route 58, with Rev. Stephen Carmany officiating. Burial will follow at Huntington Cemetery.
