William Lee Duta, 75, of Wellington, passed away under hospice care on Friday, May 9, 2025,  surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 18, 1950, in Cleveland, Bill grew up in Brooklyn and graduated in 1968 from Brooklyn High School. From 1971 to 1973, Bill proudly served his county in the U.S. Army. During his military service he was stationed in Germany working in telecommunications.

Bill worked for Our Lady of Angels Catholic Schools, retiring in 2014. He was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Parish in Wellington.

A massive train collector, Bill once had a full setup of figurines in his basement. He liked music; his favorite band was the Beatles and he found great joy in memorabilia from the band. For many years, Bill played baseball, and his love of the sport continued as he cheered for the Cleveland Indians. He was also a loyal Cavs fan.

Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol (nee Komar); his children, William Jr. (Tina), Heather (Paul), Bryan (Amanda), Brett (Cassie), Brad (Jeanette), and Rabekah (Jacob); grandchildren, Alyssa, Michaela, Kasandra, Brett, Bryan, Stephanie, Mackenzie, Brynn, Lucas, Michael, Austin, Dean, Jacob, Aiden, Aubrey, Selene, Anthony, and Blake and his great grandchildren, Braxton and Kynlee. Also surviving are his mother, Dorothy Duta and his siblings, Jeanne Hritz, Richard (Judy) Duta, and Joann (Robert) Gray. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Hannah Grace and father, Anthony.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Parish, 512 N. Main St., Wellington with Rev. David Trask officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
