William Robert "Bill" McDonald, 69, of Fairview Park, died Friday, August 24, 2018 at O'Neill Healthcare. Born on July 30, 1949 in Lakewood, he was the son of the late Robert and Alberta (nee Braeunig) McDonald. Bill was a 1967 graduate of St. Edwards High School and received a Bachelors from Cleveland State. Bill worked at Cleveland Cliffs before taking a position as the Ship Keeper and Office Manager on the William G. Mather Museum. For over 10 years he made the ship his home, living on board and caring for the boat. Bill is survived by his children Christopher (Joann) McDonald, of Garfield Heights, Jennifer McDonald, of Detroit, and Kevin (Shannon) McDonald, of North Ridgeville; 5 grandchildren; and sister Mary Ann Hartman, of Charlotte NC.
