William Arthur "Bill" McQuate, 70, of Wellington, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 2, 1943 in Oberlin, Ohio, to the late Robert and Mary (nee Campbell) McQuate. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Wellington High School who went on to spend four years in the US Navy. Bill worked for Ohio Edison for 36 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending his time gardening, fishing, camping and hiking. Bill especially loved spending time with his family and was a devoted grandfather. He was also a member of the Medina Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Brenda (nee Knecht); his children, Wendy and Greg, and grandchildren David, Ashley, Stephanie, and Alexis. Bill is also survived by his siblings Karen, Bobby, Rick, Dennis, and Mindy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy.
