William David Poiner, 82, of Wellington, died on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain. Born on December 30, 1937 in Wellington, he was the son of the late Margaret (nee Kihm) and William Poiner.

William graduated from Wellington High School in 1956. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years fighting in Vietnam and serving 3 tours in Germany. After retiring from the military, he worked at Hydro Tube. Fishing, hunting and working in the yard were just some of his favorite activities. He also enjoyed going on trips with his extended family.

William is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (nee Heile) Poiner; children, Micheal (Bev) Poiner, of Wellington and Michele Poiner, of Columbus; grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, Jacob, Matthew and Amanda; great grandchildren, Alex, Brice and Iris; siblings, John Poiner and Jean Jerousek.

A private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery.
