Obituary

William Raymond "Ray" Sheldon, 81, of Wellington, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was born on November 27, 1934 in Wellington to the late William B. and Christine (nee Stanfield) Sheldon. Ray was a lifelong resident of Wellington. He served in the Army and fought in the Korean War. Ray was a carpenter at the Wellington Foundry and worked at Farm and Home Hardware until he retired.Ray enjoyed woodworking and made several items that his children have in their homes today. Ray is survived by his children Mark (Judy) Sheldon of Wellington, Cindy (Jerry) Gueth of Reynoldsburg, Margaret Sheldon of Grafton, and T.J. (Kerry) Sheldon of Avon; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchild. Ray was preceded in death by his First Wife Christine (nee LeBeau), second wife Peg (nee Poiner) Sheldon, his son Raymond Sheldon, as well as his brother Ted Sheldon. A memorial service will be held on July 2 beginning at 1 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 231 East Hamilton St, Wellington, 44090. Rev. Dale Heulsman will officiate and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the Ohio Parkinson Foundation, www.centralohioparkinson.org or the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
