William S. "Bill" Johnson, 81, of Wakeman, died Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Admirals Pointe. Born on October 23, 1943, in Ashland, he was the son of the late Paul and Catherine (nee Sweney) Johnson. Bill was a 1961 graduate of New London High School and a lifelong resident of Clarksfield.
Bill served in the Ohio Air National Guard for 6 years, stationed out of Lahm Air Force Base in Mansfield. He worked for the New London Record, Lorain Printing, and Boxboard Packaging in Norwalk. Bill volunteered with Huron County Transit and for 15 years coached Little League in New London. He served as a township Trustee in Clarksfield for 4 years and for 15 years served as the Clarksfield Township Cemetery Sexton.
Survivors include his children, Jennifer (Chad) Hall, of Peoria AZ, and Kevin (Alyse) Johnson, of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Dylan, Caleb, Eliot, and Emerson; sister, Kay (David) Landrum, of Grand Rapids, MI; brothers-in-law, Rick (Sheila), Larry, and Tom Boos; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his wifes, Susan Angela (nee Stang) and Mary Anne Johnson.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, December 18, from 4-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, where services will be held on Thursday beginning at 11 a.m. burial will follow at Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery, on Zenobia Road.
