William Eugene Sipes, Jr., 70, a lifelong Wellington resident, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin. He was born on May 10, 1938 to the late William E. and Helen Irene (Gott) Sipes. William graduated from Wellington High School. He worked for the Wedge Wire Corp. as a plant manager. William was a member of the Wellington Eagles 2051. He enjoyed bowling, watching his grandchildren play ball, wood crafting and gardening. He also loved being the handyman. Survivors include his children, , Richard (Vanessa) Sipes of Sullivan, William (Carol) Sipes of Wellington, Debbie (Jim) Brasee of Wellington and Tracie Bowman and her fianc' Roman Ducu of North Ridgeville; stepchildren, Kenneth (Julie) Shaw, Bobbie (Julie) Shaw, Terry (Chris) Mohrman and Debbie Birch; 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Janet Gullett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Doris Sipes, his sister, June Scott and his brother, Donald Sipes. Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
