William Allen Smith Sr., 79, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away on December 16, 2020. He was born on September 10, 1941, to the late Virginia and Francis Smith.

In 1958, William joined the United States Army and served until 1960. He then made a career working 30 years for Mayflower Vehicle Systems until his retirement in the early 2000's and was a member of the United Auto Workers, local 1379. In his retirement, William served as the Pastor at the Cline Street Freewill Baptist Church in Norwalk, Ohio, where he loved spending time with his church family.

Outside of work, William loved to spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. William enjoyed golfing and watching any sporting event; his favorites being the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He was also an avid Monroeville Eagles fan, and you could find him at every Friday night football game from the late 1980's until the early 2000's.

William is survived by his children, Dave (Lori) Smith and William (Jen) Smith Jr.; grandchildren, Taylor Fitzwater and Ryan Smith; and siblings, Larry Smith, Ron (Sue) Smith, Barb (Gary) Curry, and Sharon Robertson.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his wife, Margie Smith.

His family will receive guests on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Masks are required to be worn while inside the funeral home.
