Willie 'Bill' Sidwell, age 80, of New London, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at home after a lengthy illness. He was born March 3, 1928 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, son of the late Preston and Flonnie (Taylor) Sidwell. He had lived in Huntington for 32 years and in New London for the past 10 years. Bill owned several Gastown Service Stations before going to work for Ford Motor Co. as a Millwright in Cleveland and Lorain having retired in 1992. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. Mr. Sidwell was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed fishing. Bill will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Fronia (Keith) Sidwell; 2 daughters, Misty Sidwell of Fredericktown and Mary Straka of Lorain; 2 sons, Craig Sidwell and Jack Sidwell both of New London; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Don Sidwell of Indiana, Leslie Sidwell of Kentucky and Wayne Sidwell of Indiana; 3 sisters, Ailene Short of Texas, Annette Newton and Brenda Turpin both of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his sons, Arnold and Mike Sidwell and 3 brothers, Fred, Oscar Andrew and Kenneth Lee Sidwell. Friends may call from 6 ' 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London with Pastor Harry Cutlip officiating.
