Zora Inmon, 85, of Greenwich, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at her residence. She was born on September 17, 1925 in Van Lear, KY to the late William 'McKinley' and Venious (Ratliff) Music. Zora was raised in Glo, KY and moved to Breathitt, KY after she married Andy Inmon. She moved to Greenwich in 1963.
She graduated from Wayland High School where she started as a guard on the girls basketball team. She worked at Kent Sporting Goods in New London for 22 years. Zora was a member of the Greenwich First Baptist Church and the Greenwich Crazy Quilters Quilt Club. Zora was an avid South Central sports fan.
Survivors include her children, Lola (Larry) Bailey, Judy (Dave) Lillo, Billy (Kathy) Inmon, Cles (Betty) Inmon, Kenny (Sheryl) Inmon and Orville (Jeri) Inmon; 26 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and siblings, William 'Bud' Music, Raymond Darrell Music, Gary Music and Ronnie Music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy in 1989; son, David Inmon; sisters, Billie Jean Deskins, Yvonne Slone and Annis Mae Deskins; brothers, John and Ivan Music; grandson, Zach Inmon; and great granddaughter, Kayla Hunt.
Friends may call Monday, January 3, 2011 from 4-9 p.m. at the Greenwich Baptist Church, 96 Townsend St., Greenwich where services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. Pastor Gary Adkins and S.T. Adkins will officiate and burial will follow in the Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich. Eastman Funeral Home, Greenwich is in charge of arrangements.
