Agnes M. Barber, of Wellington, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Keystone Pointe in Lagrange. Born on October 14, 1927 in Goheenville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary (nee Mikloda) and John Hensel. Agnes was a 1946 Wellington High School graduate.
Agnes worked for and retired from Ciba-Corning. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Wellington Eagles and was president and vice president of her senior luncheon group. She volunteered her time at the metro parks where she loved to spend time outdoors. Agnes also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, and going for rides on a nice day. Most importantly, she treasured time with her family. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Annette (Robert Jr.) Meadows, of West Salem; 3 granddaughters, Charlene (Mark) Wilson, Jennifer (Jeff) Richardson, Michelle (Guillermo) Diaz; 3 grandsons, Josh, Mike, and Brian and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mervin in 1990; daughter, Janet (1996); son, Ronald (1995), and siblings, Mary Mraz, Sophie Stursa, Pauline Kurtz, Margaret Vik, Ruth Hill, John Hensel and Charles Hensel.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington. Private Services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020. Webcasting of the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Camden Twp. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Agnes’ honor may be made to the family or to Lindsey’s Spina Bifida Warriors, 189 Marblewood Drive, Delaware, OH 43015.
