Aileen Krosse Obituary

Aileen Elizabeth MacCourtney Krosse, 92, died at her home in Wellington, OH, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.  She was surrounded by all 12 of her children. Her legacy will forever remain the love she fostered in her family, including her late husband Albert, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Aileen was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 28, 1927. She graduated from St. Mary of the Mount Elementary and High School in Mt. Washington, a suburb of Pittsburgh. After graduation in 1945, Aileen pursued her passion to become a wartime nurse. She received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital in Altoona, PA, and joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps in 1948. Aileen worked in nursing for more than 40 years in Northeast Ohio, providing medical and lifesaving care to thousands of patients at Medina Community Hospital and for a number of local family practitioners, including Doctors Smith, Kassel, Robertson, and Surso. Aileen married Albert Krosse in 1950 and loved him until his passing in 2012. They raised their family of 12 children in Medina, with 11 graduating from Medina High School and one from Hoban High. Aileen was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Medina and was actively involved as a parishioner. After retirement in 1997, Aileen and Albert moved to Wellington, OH and were members of St. Patrick’s Church. She was an excellent seamstress. She loved reading, gardening, and being by the ocean. She was never happier than being in the midst of the loud, sometimes raucous, always energizing, ever random, activity of her large and loving family.

Aileen is survived by her 12 children: Mark (Lisa), Anne Bradstock (Bruce), Eve Baker (Zoot), Beth, Paul (Mary), Matthew (Elaine), Sean (Katie), Mary (Bob), Albert (Laura), Daniel (Eddie), Tim (Tina), and Ben. Aileen also leaves 20 loving grandchildren, Nicholas, Jake, Kristy, Michael, Amy, Matthew, Allan, Zane, Jennifer, Doug, Geoff, Kate, Jane, Marybeth, Joe, Sarah, Theresa, Zachary, Nathan and Courtney. Aileen is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, and many more relatives and friends.
