Alice Jean Rising, 97, a lifelong LaGrange resident, died Saturday, November 14 at Keystone Pointe. Jean was born on October 25, 1923 to proud parents, the late Otto and Ada (nee Dillon) Miller. She graduated with the LaGrange High School Class of 1941.
Jean worked at General Industry and International Harvester Implement and Homewood Interiors for many years. A member of the First Baptist Church of LaGrange for over 80 years, Jean’s faith was an important part of her life. A true homemaker, Jean enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends.
She is survived by her son, James Rising, of LaGrange; grandson, Andrew and great grandchildren, Joslyn, Andrew and Levi; and sister Tish Intile. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Rising and sister Roberta “Bobbie” Simons-Simpson. She is also survived by Joe and Amy Skvor
Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 16th at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of LaGrange, 200 Church Street, the Rev. Noel Hack officiating. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required for those in attendance. A private family burial will take place at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange.
