Anne (Crabtree) DeMaria, 86, residing in Norwalk, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center.
Anne was born on October 11, 1935 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the Rev. Marvin and Lena (Lanius) Crabtree.
Anne graduated from Morral High School just outside of Marion, OH. She received her teaching certificate from Bluffton University and later received her Bachelor’s degree from Baldwin Wallace. Anne was a dedicated elementary school teacher for various local districts for 30 years. After teaching, she began a second career caring for disabled individuals with Echoing Lake Residential Homes for 25 years.
Anne was deeply passionate about her faith and that showed in her involvement with the Church of the Open Door in Elyria. She was a faithful member, sang in the church choir, assisted in bible study, and volunteered in many ways. In her spare time, Anne was an avid reader.
Anne is survived by her 4 children, Nick (Margo) DeMaria of Columbia Station, OH, Jack DeMaria of Medina, OH, Catherine (Dan) Parack of Norwalk, OH and Joseph (Vikki) DeMaria of Norwalk; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and her brother, Bill Crabtree of Marion.
In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by several siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery, 200 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk, OH 44857. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
