April G. (Gibson) Ward

April G. Ward, 79, of Monroeville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2021, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.  She was born on July 3, 1942, in Delaware, Ohio to the late Betty (Hoffman) and Harold Gibson. 

April enjoyed quilting and sewing and was very active in her church, West Hartland United Methodist Church. She was involved with Abigail Pregancy Services and the Huron County Enrichment Center, and was a member of the Enrichment Center Quilt Guild and Milan Quilt Builders Guild.  She also helped with AWANA, and milked cows for some local dairy farms over the years.  

Survivors include her children, Brenda (Scott) Bond of Norwalk; Bruce (Amy) Fessenden of Norwalk, Keith (Sherry) Fessenden of South Amherst, Jerry Fessenden of New Bern, North Carolina, Paul Fessenden of Norwalk, Cheryl (Frank) Stieber of Norwalk and Ben Ward of Indiana; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters, March (Roy) Gadd of Florida and Schuyler (David) Young of Florida. 

In addition to her parents, April was preceded in death by her sisters, Scott Linder and Willough Lust, grandchildren, Matthew Stieber, Jessica Wright and Tiffanie Fessenden and great grandson, Gavin Wright. 

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at West Hartland United Methodist Church, 1401 Zenobia Rd., Norwalk, Ohio beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m.  Any memorial contributions may be directed to the church in April’s memory.
