Audis R. Hall (R.B.), 96, of New London, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the Laurels of New London. He was born on September 19, 1926 in Harold, KY, he was the son of the late Tack and Lizzie (Case) Hall.
R.B. grew up in the hills of eastern Kentucky until the age of 19, when he was enlisted into the US Army. Proudly serving his country in WWII from February 1945 – December 1946, he served overseas with the Headquarters Company, in Tokyo, Japan, where he served as a guard, guarding military securities.
On November 18, 1947, R.B. married the love of his life, Miss Gladys Case; they were married by his father, Elder Tack Hall. In 1949 they moved to New London, OH where they remained until their passing. R.B. worked for the E. Bigelow Tile Company and Ohio Body in New London. He retired from Norwalk Furniture in Norwalk.
Following retirement R.B. spent as much time in the outdoors as he could. He loved ginseng hunting and took pride in doing so. He was a big Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed watching them on T.V. His pride and joy were his grandkids. He loved following them around and watching them play baseball, where he very rarely missed a game. Most recently he loved watching his great-grandkids ball games and cheering them on any time he was able to attend.
R.B. loved his faith and was a proud member of the Church of Christ in New London, where he very rarely missed a Sunday service.
R.B. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys (Case) Hall; his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kathryn Hall; brothers, Kadous, Carl E., Earl, Walker, Billy, Curt and Vardie Hall and sisters, Margie Hunter, Alice Boyd and Zinia Collins.
Left to cherish his memory are his grandsons, Matt (Mandy) Hall of Willard, Chad (Jenny) Hall of Peoria, AZ and Brad (Jodi) Hall of Pittsburgh, PA; great-grandsons, Wyatt, Elijah, Dylan, Caleb, Brody and Blaine Hall and a precious great-granddaughter that he loved dearly, Emmalee Hall; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St. New London, where his Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
