Bernice Maynard Obituary

Bernice Maynard, of Norwalk, went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2020.  She was 75.  Bernice was born a coal miner’s daughter on August 4, 1944 in Steels, WV to the late Ott and Azzie (Walker) Carter. 

She was a “short, sweet and spunky, Granny” to many, even those who weren’t related to her.  Bernice took care of and protected her family.  She was baptized and had attended the First Baptist Church where she was a member at one time. 

Survivors include her loving husband of over 50 years, Edward Maynard; children, Trena (Matt) Faulkner of Norwalk, Michael (Catherine) Maynard of Tupelo, MS, Lisa (Mark) Makovic of Greenville, NC and Timothy (Alissa) Maynard of Norwalk; grandchildren, Miranda, Cody, Jason, Justin, Jacob, Kiersten, Sydnee, Curtis, Kyle, Peyton, Matthew and Karsyn; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Ethan, Dylan, Tristan, Grant, Kinzley, Kylie, Jordan, Jaycee, Layla, Talan and Blakely; sister, Judy Triplett and four legged companion, “Bella”. 

In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Patterson; sisters, Betty Jane, Juanita, Irene; brothers, Curtis and Steven and great grandson, Gavin. 

Friends may call on Sunday February 9, 2020, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W.
