Bonnie I. Houghtlen, 75, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 in Fisher Titus Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 26, 1945 to the late Kenneth and Donna (Farley) Houghtlen. Bonnie was raised in Collins, graduated from Western Reserve High School, moved to Vermillion, and settled in Norwalk, where she has resided for the past 20 years.
She worked many years at the Norwalk Foundry, in the mold removal department, and was also employed at Industrial Power Coatings. But, her favorite job, after retirement, was full time grandma.
Bonnie was a caring, loving partner, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, animals, going on walks, taking her grandchildren to the park, and most of all, her family. Survivors include her lifetime partner, Oberlin L. Villarreal of Norwalk; her children, Daryl L. (Tanya) Houghtlen of London, Ohio, Oberlin L. Houghtlen of Urbana, Ohio, Tracy L. (Arturo) Martinez of Mexico, Neva J. Houghtlen (Kelly Childs) of Norwalk, and Terry L. Houghtlen (Fawn Williams) of Norwalk; grandchildren, Destiny, Liset, Ethan, Koen, Austin, Toby, Dalton, Jasmine, Isabella, Luis, David, Julia, Landyn, and Julie; her siblings, Florence (Vincent) Martinez, Shirley (Jack) Church, Mable Rossi, and Dale (Fran) Houghtlen, and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her siblings, Kenneth Houghtlen Jr., Fred Houghtlen, Neva Houghtlen, Betty Houghtlen, and Donna Header.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
