Carol Bond Obituary

 

Carol Ann Bond, 79, of Norwalk, Ohio, died on December 27, 2021, at UH Elyria Medical Center.  She was born on August 24, 1942, in Norwalk to the late Elizabeth (Ebert) and George VonSeggern and was a 1960 Norwalk High School graduate.   

Carol enjoyed baking and sewing and a good cup of coffee.  She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also enjoyed Hallmark movies, reading (especially Janette Oakes books), Sudoku and puzzles, and anything having to do with hummingbirds and cows.    

Carol had been a seamstress very early on in her career path, but spent the majority of her work in retail, most recently Big Lots in Indiana, and earlier in her career, at the Norwalk Bargain Center.  She had been a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Newburgh, IN and also Norwalk Baptist Church in Norwalk, Ohio. 

Carol is survived by her children, Scott (Brenda) Bond of Norwalk, Ohio, Cynthia (Larry) Alvey of Indiana and Kevin (Annette) Bond of Bellevue, Ohio; sister, Karen Kuhn; grandchildren, Ashley Absher, Karissa (Sean) McDermott, Elizabeth (James) Kemp, Brittany (Matthew) Chambers, Ricky (Maicie) Alvey, Bayley, Patrick, Danny and Benjamin Alvey, Ashley (Ethan) Ruffing, Nathan (Kaylee) Bond, Allison (Clement) Scheid; great grandchildren, Lexie, Nathan and Jonathan Absher, Gracie McDermott, Amaria, Averianna, Zechariah and Zailey Kemp, Mia, Makenna and Micah Chambers, Grayson, Caroline, Beckam, Josie and Jaxon Alvey, Luke and Jaci Bond.  

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Wayne Baird Bond and grandson, Timothy P. Alvey.    

A memorial gathering to celebrate both Carol and Wayne’s lives will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Norwalk Baptist Church, 2084 US-20, Norwalk from 1 – 3 p.m.  A service will begin at 3 p.m. at the church with inurnment to follow in North Fairfield Cemetery, with military honors.  Visitors to the church are encouraged to follow all current COVID19 recommendations and guidelines.  Memorial contributions if desired may be made to Norwalk Baptist Church, 2084 US-20, Norwalk, Ohio 44857.  Online expressions of sympathy may be made by visiting www.walkereastmanheydingerfh.com
